AC: VI Black Flag (Detailed Scene Inspection)

In the early days of the scene, we are treated to an opening cutscene of a mortar being fired and our main protagonist seeking cover upon return fire impacting your position. An effortless transition is applied as you are thrown into gameplay. A chase-like scene is put in place where a timed sequence is enforced, to which you must make it to your ship "Jackdaw" before the time limit is expired. after utilising a main game feature of parkour. Upon reaching the "Jackdaw" and continuing the 3rd person experience, you take a hold of a new set of controls, to partake in controlling the "Jackdaw" manually. The interface because somewhat cluttered, as your objectives, health bar and other essential points are displayed screen side. Your objective is to "Board the Man o' War" to which you are then presented with various side missions. Gameplay takes into a manual "cannon-fire" sequence, to which you are firing a cannon at the enemy ship. We are then shown our main character utilising his own ship's masts, to gain a higher advantage. The parkour elements are prominently shown through out Black Flag, especially here, as he runs along the masts and poles, to approach the enemy from a elevated position, jumping from your own ships mast, to the opponents. Upon killing one of the enemy crewmates, a quick visual signal of " Crew - 1" appears above your head, this is signifying that a member of your crew has died in battle during this fight. After we are shown our character walking around for a few seconds, he latches onto a hook to descend onto the main battlefield, which is taking place below. Through-out the sequence, your objectives are progressively increasing, once a requirement has been met to adhere towards the description of the objective. During this time of fighting, with your options of action is displayed in the top right of the screen, showing you what is available to do at the current moment, your objectives are still rising. Our protagonist then runs and then utilises the "stealth kill" to quickly dispose of a rival crewmate. A prompt of "ignite" is then shown to signify a objective requisite can be met, as you must "destroy enemy ship's powder reserves." Upon doing so, a timer appears top-centre of the screen, signifying how long until the powder is blown up. We are then briefly shown the weapon inventory which shows pistols, as well as sword, etc. Seconds later we are invited into a cutscene to which we are met with "Kenway's" friend "Thatch" who is on the glimpse of death, as tensions are visually rising, Kenway shows trouble and turmoil as he tries to get to the aid of his friend, to where he tosses Thatch a pistol, to shoot a enemy that is about to strike him, after previously been brought down to his knees. Thatch arises to be brought down again, this time, making it a killing blow. Kenway is stunned to which is pushed off the ship into the water.
